Provides expertise on Air Traffic Control/Air Traffic Management operations worldwide. The ATC Committee supports FAA, ICAO and ANSP efforts to improve system safety and efficiency and help research and implement evolutionary changes in ATC operations. Flatirons was awarded the Charles E. Varnell Memorial Award for Small Business at the 52nd Annual Conference of the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA). The award is presented to a small business concern for outstanding achievement or contribution which has added to the quality, safety, or efficiency of air traffic control. Flatirons was recognized for its contributions to a number of key air transportation initiatives. Flatirons continued its support of three of the FAA’s major modernization programs – Traffic Flow Management Modernization, En Route Automation Modernization, and Automated Flight Service Station - and was awarded work for new enterprise-level initiatives including System Wide Information Management, Advanced Concepts and Exploration and Planning for the FAA CIO’s office, and Collaborative Air Traffic Management Technologies. Flatirons has served on the Engineering and Development Committee helping plan the last three technical symposiums.
Provides national and international aerospace standards publications. AIAA standards activities are conducted. through Committees on Standards (CoS), which are supervised by the Standards Executive Council. In years past, have presented papers and served on committees such as the ATM program committee.
