Flatirons Solutions Receives ATCA Small Business of the Year Award

BOULDER COLORADO — Flatirons Solutions, a leader in Air Traffic Management systems engineering and solutions, was awarded the Charles E. Varnell Memorial Award for Small Business at the 52nd Annual Conference of the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA). The award is presented to a small business concern for outstanding achievement or contribution which has added to the quality, safety, or efficiency of air traffic control. “We are honored to have this prestigious ATCA award among our achievements”, said Mary Pritchard, President of Flatirons Solutions, “Because the FAA small business community is so abundant with great companies doing notable work, it’s even more gratifying to be recognized among that group.”

Flatirons was recognized for its contributions to a number of key air transportation initiatives. Flatirons continued its support of three of the FAA’s major modernization programs – Traffic Flow Management Modernization, En Route Automation Modernization, and Automated Flight Service Station - and was awarded work for new enterprise-level initiatives including System Wide Information Management, Advanced Concepts and Exploration and Planning for the FAA CIO’s office, and Collaborative Air Traffic Management Technologies. The company’s support extends to other future air transportation system developments including Joint Program Development Office (JPDO) NextGen, Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS), Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS), Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), Ground Based Navigation Aids, and the Corridor Integrated Weather System.
