The Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) is focused on eliminating inadequate Army family housing by leveraging assets and facilitating private sector involvement in accordance with the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI).

Residential Communities Initiatives (RCI)

Agency Profile

The Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) is a public/private program whereby private sector developers may own, operate, maintain, improve and assume responsibility for military family housing. The MHPI generates a significant volume of documentation that must be tracked and cross-referenced through the 13 lifecycle stages of each base improvement project. This documentation must be readily accessible to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations and Environment) Residential Communities Initiative (RCI) staff, attorneys, and Congress. Ensuring the efficient and effective input, organization, archiving and access to this information is the goal of the RCI’s Documentum-based system.

The Problem

  • Significant volume of documentation to be tracked, cross-referenced, and accessible to OASA, attorneys, and Congress
  • Existing content management system inadequate for current volume, accessibility, and archiving requirements

The Solution

  • Assess current metadata and directory structure to ensure optimal search capability
  • Develop a Content Intelligence Services taxonomy and auto-classification process
  • Assess shared folder structure and recommended improvements for input, storage and navigation
  • Incrementally deploy enhancements based on assessments

The Benefit

Implemented significant improvements to system architecture and business workflow.
