The Problem

• Translation packages were taking days to construct and import
• Only content authored in English and German could be reused in manuals
• Project teams had no way to track the status of translation requests and document translation status

The Solution

• Re-architect and re-develop the translation management engine to reduce package processing from 32 hours to 5 minutes
• Enhance the authoring and translation management components to enable multi-source authoring -- content could now be authored in one language and reused in a document that was authored in another language
• Develop an Application Programmer Interface (API) to the translation management subsystem for use by the companies web sites in displaying real-time translation process statistics
