Cutting Edge Geospatial and Aeronautical Data Visualization and Analysis Tool

Leveraging our expertise in XML, software engineering, adaptation engineering, and aeronautical data, Flatirons Solutions developed VISAGE™. VISAGE™ provides data processing to convert data into KML, an open XML schema that support definition of common geospatial features that is supported by a variety of GIS tools including Google Earth™. The VISAGE™ approach provides data-focused Perl scripts for flexible generation of KML for visualization and analysis of disparate geospatial data sources on the same screen. In addition to immediate application to en route air traffic automation, VISAGE is extensible to support a wide range of specialized viewing and analysis needs within industries utilizing geospatial data.

VISAGE™ combines a large body of knowledge related to aeronautical data processing with the efficient use of KML to achieve the desired viewing and analysis capabilities. VISAGE™ provides useful building blocks for future enhancements including organizational, style, configuration, and geospatial processing utilities.

Flatirons Solutions created VISAGE™ as a foundation for geospatial and aeronautical data viewing and analysis capabilities for the aviation community. Flatirons Solutions offers VISAGE™ under the Apache 2.0 Open Source license. VISAGE source code, batch files, configuration data, and user documentation are managed as an active open source project on SourceForge (http://www.sourceforge.net).

The following capabilities are provided to the open source community:

  • VISAGE ACES: Processes FAA Host ACES data from all 20 ARTCCs
  • VISAGE ERAM: Processes FAA ERAM XML adaptation data products
  • VISAGE DRAW: Processes a generic user defined XML input file into KML.
