Systems Engineer - Air Traffic Management Systems

Overview

We are currently seeking Systems Engineers (of all levels) who will assist in the development of future concepts and capabilities that will eventually be deployed as part of modernized Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. Our focus is less on deployment of actual systems and more on developing, evaluating, and formalizing a portfolio of next-generation technologies. Formal system engineering training and experience is not necessary, but candidate must have a strong technical background (engineer, analyst, etc.) and be comfortable with developing and exploring ideas from high-level concepts down to more detailed requirements, and with reconciling and synthesizing new capabilities with other programs and systems. Activities may include developing concepts of operations, system architectures, and requirements; identifying and evaluating system-level technical risks and dependencies; and participating in program management reviews, system-level reviews, technical interchanges, and related activities. This position may require the candidate to develop an understanding of several ATM systems and/or domains and identify dependencies and requirements needed for cross-domain integration. Successful candidate will work as a member of a consulting team but is also expected to work independently to identify and resolve other client support needs within a dynamic environment. Candidate must be comfortable and adept with recognizing and defining client needs, bringing together disparate information and/or different domains via cohesive analysis, and delivering concise recommendations to the client.

Minimum Requirements / Responsibilities

Analysis of applications, infrastructure, and procedures comprising technical systems.
Development, review, and refinement of integrated architectural models and system concepts, architectures, and enhancements.
Requirements identification, analysis, specification, refinement, and validation.
Performance analyses including performance data definition, collection, and modeling.
Projecting anticipated performance / cost / benefits of new functionality as it is considered for development, and quantifying performance/cost/benefits once new functionality is in operational use.
Prior experience working with Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems and/or the National Airspace System (NAS) is a plus.

Recommended Skills

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
5+ years professional experience in an IT related field.
Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
