Greg Beserra
Co-Founder and Director
President, Content Technology

Greg is a co-founder and director of Flatirons Solutions. Under Greg's leadership, the company has established strong partner alliances, cultivated a client list featuring industry leaders and Fortune 500 companies, and become widely-recognized as a premier provider of content intensive solutions and services.

Greg has over 29 years of experience in consulting, software engineering, business development, client service and the delivery of leading edge content solutions. Before founding Flatirons, Greg was a Practice Executive for IBM Global Services’ worldwide Enterprise Document Management practice. He also worked with IBM’s Federal Systems Division.

Greg holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University and an M.C.I.S from the University of Denver.


Gary Fuller
President, Government Solutions

Gary is a seasoned executive who brings over 30 years of government and industry experience in IT/IS services organizations to Flatirons Solutions.

Prior to joining Flatirons, he spent the last five years at CACI where he served most recently as Senior Vice President and Operations Group Manager, Aerospace and Healthcare Solutions. Before that, he was Chief Operating Officer for Information Systems Support (ISS), President of Azar, Inc., a business development consultancy for aerospace and defense, and President of Sterling Software’s Information Technology Division. Gary is an active member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). He was also a Major in the United States Army.

Gary holds an MBA in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Political Science and Music from the University of Mississippi.


Eric Severson
Co-Founder and Director
Chief Technology Officer

Eric is a co-founder and director of Flatirons Solutions. An internationally recognized XML pioneer and content management industry expert, he drives the company’s technical strategy, technology partnerships, and delivery of quality for Flatirons customers. Eric is a frequent speaker at content management and XML industry events and active participant in industry and standards organizations. He is also a contributor to a number of content technology blogs.

Eric has over 29 years of experience in the technology field, ranging from hands-on product development and consulting to senior management roles in engineering and marketing. A former president of the OASIS industry consortium and a current IDEAlliance board member, he also has experience as an Executive Consultant for IBM Global Services, as a Vice President and Chief Strategist for Interleaf, Inc., and as co-founder and CTO of Avalanche Development.

Eric holds a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, with Ph.D. coursework in Computer Science from the University of Colorado.


Content Technology Line of Business

Lee Fife
Vice President, Consulting Services

Lee is Vice President of Consulting Services in Flatirons Content Technology line of business. Since joining the company in 2002, Lee has been both a senior business and technical leader, and is responsible for building the company's significant Publishing and Media Practice along with other key market areas.

Lee has over 25 years of experience delivering Information Technology solutions and managing development and systems integration teams. He has extensive experience with XML, commercial publishing, rich media and digital asset management, and internal publishing including technical documentation. His experience includes direct consulting engagements, executive management and senior technical management, and software development and implementation. Lee has worked in large software companies such as Interleaf, consulting practices such as Fastwater LLP, and startups like Cadnetix and Avalanche Development Company. His clients have covered a similar span, from startups looking for technical advice and leadership to large commercial enterprises needing solutions to support critical operational processes.

Lee has a B.S. degree in Mathematics and physics from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, with Ph.D. coursework in Theoretical Physics at UC Berkeley.


George Florentine
Vice President, Engineering

George serves as Vice President of Engineering for Flatirons Content Technology line of business. Joining Flatirons Solutions in 2005, he is responsible for managing Flatirons technical leads, implementing best practices engineering methodology, technical research and development, and ensuring the overall technical quality of Flatirons project work.

George has over 27 years of experience in the development and management of software products and solutions. With vast experience in all phases of the software development process including identification of business problems, requirements definition, product design, implementation, maintenance, and support, George has a unique ability to solve business problems with cost effective solutions for customers in a wide range of vertical industries. His involvement in the Content Management market space over the last 15 years – at companies such as Interleaf, Information Dimensions, Fastwater LLP and Digital Equipment Corporation – has involved him in the development of several industry standards, in roles as a software architect and product manager and as a consultant providing customized ECM solutions in a number of vertical markets including transportation, health care and manufacturing.

George holds B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with graduate work at MIT in Nuclear Power Engineering.


Joe Mihalik
Vice President, Business Development

Joe is Vice President of Business Development for Flatirons Content Technology line of business. Since joining Flatirons Solutions in 2003, Joe has been critical in helping to foster the company’s impressive growth.

Joe has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in selling, marketing, and delivering leading edge content management solutions for organizations like Flatirons Solutions, Creative Concepts Corporation (CCC), and IBM Corporation, playing a major part in growing and defining the industry as we know it today. Starting as a senior sales representative working to establish IBM’s Global Services EDM practice in the late 80s and early 90s, Joe helped transform “early adopter organizations in industries such as commercial airlines and the government. Through his visionary approach to solving content-related problems with innovative tools and technologies, Joe helped move SGML and XML-based content management and publishing into mainstream market areas.

Joe has a B.S. degree in Management Information Systems from California State University Sacramento in California.


Government Solutions Line of Business

Mitchell Bostelman
Vice President, Government Solutions

Mitchell Bostelman joined Flatirons Solutions in 2010 and serves as Vice President of Government Solutions line of business. He oversees all business unit operations and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Government Solutions' opportunities in investment analysis and portfolio planning. In this role, he works with the Board of Directors, executive leadership team, and senior program managers to create strategies designed to accelerate profitable growth, diversify the project portfolio, and increase customer satisfaction and reduce corporate risk by improving all facets of the service delivery organization.

Prior to joining Flatirons, Mitchell was a senior leader at the U.S. Internal Revenue Service where he designed, built and operated an agency-wide IT portfolio planning program, as well as leading initiatives in IT investment management, capital planning, and governance. Mitchell has experience in both public and private sectors, holding senior leadership and executive positions at CGI, American Management Systems (AMS), and several not-for-profit organizations. He has been published several times, including in IEEE Software, and his past programs have been the subject of several awards and research papers. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree from University of Maryland in econometrics and a master's degree from The American University in IT Management.

Bernadette Dawson
Director, Business Development

Bernadette Dawson leads business development for the Flatirons Government Solutions line of business. She joined the company in April 2011 and leads the effort to pursue systems engineering, enterprise architecture, investment analysis/portfolio planning, and content technology opportunities in the Federal sector.

Bernadette has over 20 years of experience providing management consulting, operations and contract management, and business development support to Civilian and Defense clients across the Federal sector. Prior to joining Flatirons Solutions, she was Business Development Director for TechTeam Government Solutions, where she was responsible for developing new business opportunities for the National Security and Civilian Divisions. Bernadette previously served as the Business Unit Leader for TechTeam’s Business Transformation Agency (BTA)/Program Management Group and its Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Group. Bernadette has served in a number of Program Management roles for large management consulting companies in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and is currently a member of the Belvoir AFCEA Board.

Bernadette has a B.A. from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and a M.A. from the University of London in England.
