Flatirons Solutions collaborated to help the FAA increase airspace capacity by delivering a core set of operational capabilities that offer users as much flexibility of flight as possible while maintaining safety

The Problem

• Technical documents required change every 56 days due to aeronautical chart updates
• Multiple development contractors made changes/differences hard to track
• Needed to “package” engineering environment for delivery to FAA maintenance organization 

The Solution

• Automate generation of site-specific docs based on as-built adaptation
• Provide data validation via XML schema
• Support multiple output formats (XML, HTML, PDF)
• Develop “engineer dashboard” portal

The Benefit

Validation schema became preliminary tool for identifying software changes; significantly reduced publication effort.
