FDIC Interagency Exam Repository

The FDIC engaged Flatirons via their iDox prime contractor to investigate performance and reliability issues with the Interagency Exam Repository (IER) system, and suggest data, programmatic and architectural improvements.

FDIC Interagency Exam Repository

Agency Profile

The FDIC is an independent agency of the US Government who insures investor’s deposits in banking and thrift institutions.

The Problem

  • Exam data was not consistently synchronized between the internal and external repositories
  • Exam data was often “lost”, being rejected by the intake system with no notification to submitter or system administrator
  • Manual workflows delayed posting of new data
  • Entire system was built on outdated software (Documentum EDMS98)

The Solution

  • Conduct a comprehensive study of current technology, systems and processes
  • Produce report of tactical and strategic recommendations to improve IER
  • Provide ROM of implementation costs for report recommendations

The Benefit

Reduced publication time from 12 weeks to 2 days; 25% increase in accuracy.
