Welcoming Lindsay Aiken In Her New Role as Director of Delivery
In early 2017, Flatirons Jouve launched an initiative to increase the collaboration between our three engineering organizations (Research & Development, Operations, and the Customer Service Organization) and created a new quality group dedicated to continuously improving our ability to provide the consistent high-quality deliveries that our clients expect.
With a mission this critical, an exceptionally strong candidate was needed to provide the necessary oversight and coordination. With her extensive background in program management, consulting, and quality control analysis, the leadership team looked towards quality specialist and customer advocate Lindsay Aiken as an obvious choice.
In February 2018, Lindsay was promoted to Director of Delivery and today leads this new delivery team that encompasses quality, DevOps, documentation, business analysis, and training.
Our team sat down with Lindsay to learn more about her new role and gain additional background on her journey.
Congratulations on your new role! Can you provide some background on your history with Flatirons Jouve?
I joined the company over a decade ago on the quality control team. Then I moved into the documentation group where I worked on updating and standardizing product user guides. Next, I moved into business analysis where I was doing both requirements gathering and delivering end-user training. And most recently I was a member of the project management organization for the aerospace operations group. I think my path here is a testament to how supportive the company has been in encouraging me to take on new challenges and advance my career. I also hope it serves as proof that you don’t need to come from a classic computer science or IT background to have a place in the tech industry.
What makes you excited about your new position?
I am excited to see how the actions we take as a delivery team will result in an added benefit for our customers. Working with so many different teams in the company made me experience first-hand how the different engineering groups interact with each other and with our customers. I think it gives me a unique perspective on the areas where we can focus our attention to have the most impact. I especially value the time I’ve spent onsite with our customers and meeting with their teams. That’s the best way to get a sense of how they are using our products in their daily lives which helps to better understand their business needs and what our solutions can do for them.
What goals would you like to accomplish in your new role that will bring additional value to our customers?
I want to empower our quality assurance, technical publications, business analysis, and DevOps teams to adopt new strategies to streamline their methods and processes. I also want to invest in automation and accelerate the adoption of new deployment frameworks to gain efficiencies. And most importantly, I want to partner more closely with our customers at every stage of a project, from initial conception through final delivery, to ensure we are delivering the best solution for them.
We wish Lindsay continued success in her new position at Flatirons Jouve! For additional information please contact:
