The Flatirons’ Project Management Office (PMO) plays a unique role in delivering solutions to our customers, while managing the delivery and support of those same solutions using the SourceOnce® methodology. Using this Agile-influenced methodology allows Flatirons to meet financial targets and maximize customer value for the chosen solution.
The PMO also works hard to embody our core values in everything we do. The core value “Lead by Example” is one that we attempt to do every day. In a practical way, one way in which we demonstrate this core value is by sponsoring monthly Project Management Institute® roundtables. These roundtables, which are open to the public, allow like-minded Project Management practitioners to come together and discuss topics directly related to the Project Management Body of Knowledge® (PMBOK) Guide, such as initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing projects. Specific topics are chosen by attendees and these same attendees present their expertise and knowledge by presenting topics such as communications across cultures, problem solving, and project management tools, just to name a few.
Consider joining us for one of the upcoming roundtables. We meet every third Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time at the Flatirons office, 5755 Central Ave. Boulder, Colorado. If you can’t make it in person, contact Bernie Newcomb, PMP®, to get an invitation to the electronic conferencing portion of the meeting.
