Flatirons Exposes the Elephant in the IT Department at EMC World 2015

Calendar April 17, 2015

More than 50% of applications in typical enterprise portfolios are legacy applications. Yet in the face of exploding data volumes, increasingly larger and complex data sets, and an ever-expanding applications portfolio for most organizations, IT and business leaders should be shouting from the rooftop that holding onto legacy applications is a costly and impractical way to operate.

At EMC World 2015, Flatirons exposes this elephant in the IT department—runaway costs tied to maintaining outdated, unsupported, read-only applications that are collecting dust simply to provide access to the data on them.EMC World 2015

During a series of activities at EMC World, the Flatirons team will show how the financial impact of holding onto legacy applications is looming around the corner for many organizations, especially those operating in regulated industries that have the largest collections of legacy applications. The team will take an in-depth look at how application decommissioning can help retire costly applications while providing continuous access to data using a simple, easy-to-use repository based on the EMC InfoArchive platform—freeing up millions of dollars in IT budgets starting in a matter of months.

Flatirons’ InfoArchive experts also will staff sessions giving technologists hands-on experience working with the InfoArchive platform as it pertains to application decommissioning.
